I’m sad to say this, but considering my timeframe, I think it would be best for me to shift my project into the second option about the coronavirus. This piece would be all about me talking about a bunch of first-person responses to the virus from a variety of contexts. To start, I’d want to focus specifically on Maine because I feel like the conversation has been focused elsewhere so far. My friend, Bailey is currently on her way back from a study abroad program in Ireland with the University of Maine. I’d really like to have her take on it. Especially when she heard about the order from Trump to stop travel from Europe starting Friday. She got the message at midnight and had to immediately try to grab a flight back home. I’d also like to talk to some healthcare professionals in my family to see what precautions they are beginning to take to prevent and tackle this huge issue. Finally, I want to talk to older generations around me about their concerns since they are more at risk than college students with stronger immune systems. Also, include my own personal experience and anxieties at UNE.
