There have been a number of conspiracy theories over surrounding the deaths of music artists. These include anyone from Tupac to Christina Grimmie to Marylin Monroe. However, a recent sudden death of a rapper has been causing some talk.
*These are just simply theories. Any of this information below isn’t plain facts and they aren’t meant to specifically hurt anyone.*
The 20 year old rapper that goes by the stage name of XXXTentacion (Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy) was allegedly shot in an armed robbery in Deerfield Beach, FL on June 18 of this year.
Regarding the crime, there have been several different theories about what caused the shooting to the chest and who the suspects are. A dispatch call to the scene detailed a description of the suspects to be, “two black males wearing black hoodies, with the shooter wearing a red mask” (UNILAD).
DRAKE
Many other people are trying to piece together the puzzle by looking at X’s relationship with another rapper known by the name of Drake.
INSTAGRAM STORY
X has had his fair share of bones to pick with Drake over the years. About four months before the shooting, X put out an Instagram story claiming that @champagnepapi aka Drake may try to kill him. The same day, however, the post was deleted and X was saying his account was hacked. (TREYWRIGHT).
PUSHA T
Another run-in between the two happened when X found out that Drake had a son that he wanted to keep hidden. Drake allegedly threatened to kill the other man if he spread that information to anyone. Apparently X told another rapper called Pusha T who then went along to write a song called, “Story of Adidon,” about it.
Even after both rappers say they didn’t have anything else against each other anymore, Drake wrote some lyrics about the Pusha T situation. In Drake’s song, “Look Alive,” he says, “said I put that [stuff] behind us, but I lied.” (TREYWRIGHT).
SCORPION
Flash forward to 11 days after the shooting: Drake’s new album, “Scorpion,” came out. The album features two songs mentioning things fans are attempting to connect to the whole situation with X.
I’m Upset:
Lyrics in Drake’s single “I’m Upset” read, “End up gettin’ loose and gettin’ pictures from my ex, SMS, Triple X/That’s the only time I ever shoot below the neck.” These lyrics have been repeatedly linked to the shooting of X. Personally, it sounds like Drake is talking about X by saying X got pictures of his private son and then wanted to shoot him in the chest. (TREYWRIGHT).
Mob Ties:
Another one of Drake’s new songs called “Mob Ties” has been linked to the X situation. The lyrics that have been talked about are, “Louis bags in exchange for body bags” (HUZLERS). People claim this is about X because a Louis Vuitton bag was stolen from his car during the armed robbery.
The other lyric in that song that has been linked to X is, “Hire some help (help), get rid of these [people]” (HUZLERS). These lyrics lead people to think Drake may have hired help to get rid of X so he wouldn’t have the blame.
CONCLUSION
Overall, there is always going to be conflicting evidence for and against a certain theory. What do you believe happened to X? Did he set something like this up for publicity? Did Drake really kill this man? The world may never know..
